Gathered under the reign of Christ. Formed by His Word. Sent into the world.
— Hebrews 4:16 · Revelation 1:6 —
Throne & Altar Ministries is a community of believers gathered around the supremacy of Christ — His reign over all things, His presence at the table, and His mission in the world. We are a people being shaped by Scripture, nourished by the gospel, and sent into our neighborhoods with hope.
Whether you are a long-time follower of Jesus, someone who is searching, or simply curious — we welcome you. Come as you are. Encounter the living God. Find a home.
Our name is not merely a label. It is a confession — that we belong to the King, and that we serve as priests in His house.
We'd love to have you join us. Visit on a Sunday, learn more about who we are, and consider making your home among us. If you have questions or want to connect, reach out — we'd love to hear from you.
A church plant rooted in Scripture, covenant, and the beauty of the gospel.
Throne & Altar Ministries was born from a conviction that the local church is the hope of the world — not because of its programs or personality, but because of the living Christ who dwells within it. We are a gathered community in the ancient tradition of the faith, seeking to embody that reality in a fresh and faithful way.
We believe the church is called to hold two things together: reverent worship before the throne of God, and costly service at the altar of sacrifice. Neither can be separated. Awe without action becomes pietism. Action without awe becomes mere activism. We want both — a people who encounter the holiness of God and are sent out as bearers of His mercy.
We are elder-led, Word-centered, sacrament-embracing, and mission-minded. We hold to the historic Christian faith as expressed in the great creeds and confessions of the church catholic, while remaining always reforming under the authority of Scripture alone.
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God — our final rule for faith and life in all things.
Every Lord's Day we gather to proclaim and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Membership is meaningful. We belong to one another — in joy, in sorrow, and in faithful accountability.
We live and work in our communities as ambassadors of Christ's kingdom, not as escapists from the world.
We take the life of the mind seriously, believing that right thinking leads to right living and genuine doxology.
Throne & Altar is governed by a plurality of elders who share responsibility for the oversight, preaching, teaching, and pastoral care of the congregation. We believe this model reflects the New Testament pattern for church leadership and provides both accountability and stability for the community.
Deacons serve alongside the elders in the practical ministry of the church — caring for the physical, financial, and logistical needs of the body so that the elders can give themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
If you'd like to connect with our leadership team or learn more about our governance structure, we'd love to meet with you.
What we believe, why we believe it, and how it shapes our life together.
The following represents the core beliefs of Throne & Altar Ministries, organized around the two pillars of apostolic proclamation: the Kerygma — the Gospel as proclaimed — and the Didache — the Apostolic Teaching on how the people of God are to live and be ordered.
We believe the core of the Gospel delivered through the Apostles can be summarized as follows:
The Gospel is the fulfillment of prophecy in the Holy Scriptures, according to the eternal purpose and plan of God, to reconcile man unto Himself through His Only Son, Jesus Christ, bringing us under a New Covenant in which there is forgiveness of sins and God's Holy Spirit being placed within us.
Old Testament prophecy was fulfilled through the coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He is the Only Son of God — fully God, fully Man. He lived a perfect, sinless life and was crucified, dead and buried, rising on the third day, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
The Son of Man, Jesus, will come again as Judge of the living and the dead. He will abolish all rule and authority and set up the Kingdom of God, over which He will reign for all eternity.
All those who hear this message and believe by faith, receiving by grace this precious gift of forgiveness, will be called the sons and daughters of God. They will receive His Spirit as a pledge of their inheritance as they eagerly await His return. We believe there is only one gospel of Jesus Christ, and that whoever puts their faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ will be forgiven of their sins and become part of the Family of God, the Church.
We believe that those who have received this message by faith must be baptized into the Name of Jesus — being identified with Him in His burial and resurrection — as a symbolic act of becoming identified with the community of faith and believers.
We believe there is a work of salvation, and that once one is identified with Christ and His Church through baptism, there is to be development and establishment of that believer in the local church as an essential and active part of the family.
We believe that God has always had an eternal, specific plan for His Church and that He has revealed it with clear instructions in the epistles.
Eph. 3:1–13 · 1 Tim. 3:14–16 · 2 Tim. 1:13–14, 3:9–10
Each believer is enjoined to put off the old way of living, be renewed in the spirit of their mind, and be conformed to the perfect will and purpose of God — putting on the new self, which is by the Spirit.
Romans 12 · Romans 14–15 · Ephesians 4:22–24Every believer, by the power of the indwelling Spirit of God, will live and be recognizable as a believer by a set of Godly virtues.
Galatians 5:22–26 · Colossians 3Each individual household and family must be ordered according to the specific instructions given in accordance with God's design. There is an order, and it can and should be understood and followed.
Eph. 5:22–6:9 · Col. 3:18–4:1 · 1 Pet. 2:18 · 1 Tim. 6:1–2The household of God — the local church — must be ordered according to the specific instructions of sound doctrine passed on from the Apostles. Within the community of believers, every member is meant to utilize their individual gifts for the building up of the whole, always working to preserve the bond of unity and peace through love, serving one another across the generations.
Eph. 3:1–13 · Col. 1:24–29 · Titus 2 · 1 Cor. 12–13 · 1 Tim. 4–5The believer and the community of believers must relate to the world as representatives of God's Family and Kingdom — having respect for earthly authorities, loving their neighbor, doing good to those in need, while not being infiltrated by the philosophies of the surrounding culture.
Rom. 13:1–7 · 1 Pet. 2:13–17 · Titus 2:14, 3:1–2 · 1 Tim. 1:1–7Each believer is to live a sober life, making the most of their time (for the days are evil), staying alert and watchful in prayer — for our enemy, Satan, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.
1 Pet. 5:8 · Eph. 6:10–18 · John 10:10We believe that the family unit is of utmost importance and must be guarded from the cultural influences of our day. Marriage is a sacred act meant to be between one man and one woman for life, with the exception of immorality and infidelity. Anything beyond this is contrary to God's perfect design.
Matt. 5:30–32 · Matt. 19:1–12 · Mark 10:1–12 · 1 Cor. 7:10–16 · Eph. 5:22–33We believe that humans are created male and female. It is God who gives gender, and therefore it cannot and should not be changed or altered according to our feelings, the opinions of others, or what the culture of our day deems acceptable.
Gen. 1:27, 5:2 · Matt. 19:4 · Mark 10:6 · 1 Cor. 11:12We believe that life is sacred and is a wonderful gift of God. God creates life, redeems it through Jesus Christ, and fulfills it in the coming of the reign of God. Therefore we believe that, guided by God's Law which orders and preserves life, human beings are called to respect and care for the life that God gives. We believe that God is redemptive and there is forgiveness for all things done contrary to His design, but that we are meant to preserve and protect life that has been entrusted to us.
Ps. 139 · Jer. 1:5 · Is. 40:26 · Luke 1:41 · Acts 17:24–25We believe that every believer is saved by grace through faith. This grace of God appeared to bring salvation to all men and is to instruct us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age. It is not meant as a license to continue in sin. For the one who continues in habitual sin has never truly known God.
Eph. 2:8–9 · Rom. 5:20, 6–8 · Titus 2:10–12 · 1 John 3:6–9We believe that every believer is to be consistently connected and involved in a local church, as it is the local expression of the family of God — essential for each individual's growth, participation, accountability, and protection.
Rom. 12:4–5 · Heb. 10:23–25 · 1 Tim. 5:1–2We believe that the Word of God has the final authority on all issues concerning the churches and their beliefs. The local church is to be guarded by elders and those gifted as pastors, teachers, and ministers of the Gospel — but all are subject to the authority of Scripture.

The local expression of Throne & Altar Ministries — a family gathered every Sunday.
Koinonia House is the local church expression of Throne & Altar Ministries. The word koinonia (κοινωνία) means fellowship, participation, and communion — a sharing of life together. We gather not merely as an audience, but as a family: to sing, to hear the Word proclaimed, and to share life together around the table — including shared meals and the Lord's Supper as a regular part of our common life.
We believe the Lord's Day gathering should feel like coming home. The table is central to who we are — both the communion table and the literal one. Meals and the Lord's Supper are not afterthoughts; they are part of our theology. Christ is known in the breaking of bread.
You don't need to know anyone or have any background in church. Show up as you are. Someone will greet you at the door, help you get oriented, and make sure you feel at home.
We open with singing — a mix of ancient hymns and contemporary worship that reflects the depth and breadth of the Christian tradition. Participation is encouraged, not required.
Teaching is expositional — we work through books of the Bible, passage by passage, with attention to the original languages and the flow of redemptive history. Bring a Bible or use your phone.
Shared meals are a regular part of our community life. When we eat together, it's not an add-on — it's part of our theology. This is where friendships are made and community takes root.
We celebrate Communion regularly as part of our gathered life. All baptized believers who are walking in fellowship with Christ are welcome at the table. First-time visitors are welcome to observe and participate as they are led.
